PCGP Episode 69
A Tuesday podcast?! Wow, it must be interesting. Let’s see… Supreme Commander demo released; “Catassing” defined; Blizzard predicts the death of the console; NVIDIA drops the ball with Vista drivers, users overreact; Q&A and playlists! Yep, fascinating. See you soon for our much ballyhooed second episode to make up for last week’s absence.

YESSSSSS I LOVE YOU PCG
February 6th, 2007 at 11:18 pm
you guys keep forgetting to mention World In Conflict as a DX10 game which is coming pretty soon i think, RL Q3 2007 same time as crysis
February 7th, 2007 at 12:11 am
Thanks PCG!
Hey Jeremy, Are we still getting 2 this week?
February 7th, 2007 at 1:27 am

Good stuff. Glad to hear the interns for once. Go interns!
February 7th, 2007 at 11:15 am
Is it me or was that last mp3 question been already played before in a previous podcast?
February 7th, 2007 at 1:30 pm
It was but some one else asked it
February 7th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
Woot woot
February 7th, 2007 at 3:34 pm
February 7th, 2007 at 3:47 pm
By the way Dan Morris fills in for Gaz this week over at the Next Gen podcast, for you Dan fans.
February 7th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
congrads to norm on getting the Killing Box editorial in the mag…
and i played the SupCom demo and i didn’t like it much…
its okay but it seems like unless i buy a new computer there is no reason to own it…
there just isn’t enough screen space at the lowest resolution and zooming out makes everything icons so i dont see the nice graphics…
When i get a new PC and the game is cheaper i’ll get it…
the demo served its purpose for me; not a game i need right away.
February 7th, 2007 at 4:43 pm
Great podcast. Nice to hear a little about vista. I just picked up the Ultimate edition and am going to install it this week. I found it funny how so many people were so angry about the drivers not working or not being out. I realize its been out for a while in beta, but you can’t account for everything until you get a significant user-base testing it out.
I was looking into the Logitech G15 drivers and its looking like they aren’t out yet. I’ve read posts saying they weren’t even going to support it at all on Vista. Do any of you guys/gals have a G15? Have you tried it on Vista? I’d really like to see some support for it.
Oh and on a side note… I still like Voyager you damn catasser! /grin
February 7th, 2007 at 4:52 pm
What the f*** ?
You guys repeated a question you fiends ! FIENDS !
You also played a playlist which was probably cut out from several months ago, “Yeh i’m playing Oblivion…umm….No the expansion isn’t out yet”
February 7th, 2007 at 4:57 pm
I wish my machine could handle Supreme Commander better than it does. Unfortunately my poor old 6200 doesn’t have what it takes to push the graphics. Maybe a while from now when I can get some better hardware I’ll buy this game and if it’s not in stores by then there’s always Ebay.
February 7th, 2007 at 9:58 pm
Uh-oh, I think they replayed my question. LOL! Oh well, at least they had a new answer for it!
February 7th, 2007 at 10:45 pm
Thanks Jeremy!
February 7th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
I was almost not going to say anything, but I couldn’t resist. Episode 69 oh yeah!
February 8th, 2007 at 2:29 am
Sean - I AM playing Oblivion, and The Shivering Isles isn’t out yet.
February 8th, 2007 at 3:12 am
What about Alan Wake? Is that going to be a DX10 game? Oh wait… you did mention it later.. but I still wanted to say something because I’m so looking forward to that game in particular.
February 8th, 2007 at 7:48 am
WORLD IN CONFLICT! hello?
February 8th, 2007 at 12:14 pm
i think Sean was thinking you guys were talking about that Knights mod or expansion?
February 8th, 2007 at 12:49 pm
oh no, now there’s two friggin Shawns/Seans here now…
Hey by the way, is anyone else going out to the GDC this year? I’m going out for sure, and the wifey wants to go as well. I think it’s only a $1000 bucks for a general pass. Maybe PCG can give out some free passes to their most loyal listeners/readers here at the PCG Podcast forum
A contest maybe??
February 8th, 2007 at 4:30 pm
DJ make sure your armor doesn’t suck balls. That was a big problem for me
February 8th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
Yes, sucking balls is a MAJOR problem, and it needs to be addressed. It’s about time that sucking balls be taken seriously.
When will the next podcast be up? The gaping hole in my soul left by no podcast last week is now healed, but now I burn for more!
And it better not suck balls.
February 8th, 2007 at 11:11 pm
PCGP 70?
February 9th, 2007 at 1:29 pm
Thanks for airing my question on trek gaming guys
…and yeah, you can call me Scotty, but unfortunately im not canadian and using a fake accent, James Doohan was canadian and he was using a fake accent.
I can probably drink you under the table though…LOL
February 9th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
PC Gamer staff just wants to stay at 69…. :_(
February 9th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Hehehehe
February 9th, 2007 at 5:53 pm
I loved this podcast, but I was sad to see that there was no 69 joke in there anywhere.:-(
February 9th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
Bad news, guys - looks like we’re not going to be able to make good on our promise of two podcasts this week. Like most problems, this one can be traced straight back to Jeremy. Also, I remain sick as a dog, which totally blows (and unfortunately cannot be blamed on Jeremy). We’ll make it up to you later, we promise.
February 9th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
:( It’s alright, get better Dan.
February 9th, 2007 at 9:07 pm
How about answering all my questions regardless of length in the next podcast?
February 9th, 2007 at 9:20 pm
i was definitely expecting some 69 action but wtvr, maybe thats meant for the 69th video podcast
February 9th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
Hey Jeremy! I just read on the Maximum PC site that your kid has gone gold. Congrats!
So how does it feel to have your virility knock two podcasts off the net for a week?
February 10th, 2007 at 5:18 am
WARSnake i am thinking that on the 69th Video podcast we get a free episode of Whores of Warcraft.
Also is Jeremy going to defend his honour by saying how he screwed up?
February 10th, 2007 at 11:05 am
Hey guys, you said teh SupCom tutorials were good and hands on? WHAT? They’re video files barely 50MB large, that I have to close SupCom, go wait in damn line in Fileplanet at and then see a .mov file about a minute long. That’s not hands on?
February 10th, 2007 at 2:10 pm
whens nezxt podcast coming jeremy?????
February 10th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
Neebs, please remember you’re only playing the demo, not the full version.
February 10th, 2007 at 3:55 pm
congrats Jeremy!
February 10th, 2007 at 5:03 pm
Well, you guys were talking about how the demo was released and such, so I assumed you meant that. So Dan, I loved the review by the way, are there real tutorials?
February 10th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
great podcast, but weres the second one that u told us about?
February 10th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
RSS feed is limited to only 50 podcasts? Damn it, I wanted to redownload all of them so I can use them on my Vision:M. I guess it’s MASSIVE renaming time for my orignal downloaded copies from iTunes.
February 10th, 2007 at 8:36 pm
In case folks didn’t see the reference above, Jeremy welcomed the birth of his son a couple days ago, and has been at the hospital since. I know he’s looking forward to resuming work on the podcasts once he and his wife have everything under control with the new addition to the family (ha.. like that ever happens).
February 10th, 2007 at 9:24 pm
gg jeremy
February 10th, 2007 at 9:29 pm
Okay, didn’t they say we were to get two podcasts this week? Where is number 70?
February 10th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
Lupine, Jeremy’s wife just had a BABY, there will be no other one. Just wait
February 11th, 2007 at 4:08 am
Well that’s good news… I suppose we can wait until next week for another show…
Congrats Jeremy!
February 11th, 2007 at 9:14 am
grats Jeremy
February 11th, 2007 at 11:59 am
Congratulations, Jeremy! Where are the cigars?
February 11th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
mabye we have found a new member of the podcast jeremy???
February 11th, 2007 at 2:24 pm
Jeremy – great podcast.
Just wanted to remind your listeners that World in Conflict, first announced in the June 2006 issue of PC Gamer (“absolutely blows our minds”), will have a Dx10 version.
In fact we were one of the first three games to be demonstrated to the public on the NVIDIA 8800 during the NVIDIA Reality Redefined press conference in November 2006 alongside Crysis and Quake Wars: Enemy Territory.
Interested listeners can check out our CES 2007 trailer on YouTube http://youtube.com/watch?v=bdhbu1RM05U or learn more at http://www.worldinconflict.com.
Don’t want to turn this place into a commercial and all, but credit where credit is due!
Keep up the good work.

February 11th, 2007 at 2:31 pm
Congratulations Jeremy to your Noob.
February 11th, 2007 at 3:54 pm
Congrats Jeremy on the baby
February 11th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
Hey Guy,
Thanks for posting! We certainly didn’t mean to leave you guys off our list - we just occasionally have a group brain fart that leaves something obvious out.
Neebs, yes, in the full version of SupCom there are tutorials.
February 11th, 2007 at 5:44 pm
Congrats to Jeremy’s wife who did all the hard work.
February 11th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
to bad my system wont be able to run it any time soon for 2 reasons one i dont got vista and 2 i wont be upgrading anytime soon
February 11th, 2007 at 5:52 pm
X: He had to stay there and watch her have the baby for hours and hours. (not to mention put up with having a pregnent wife. He did his share.
February 11th, 2007 at 10:54 pm
Congrats Jeremy!, I’m lighting up a cigar for you and the Wifey
February 12th, 2007 at 3:08 pm
Wow.
Catassing defined, like they did on GFW like three weeks ago. And an MP3 question you guys did a month ago!
Awesome.
It’s like having my own DeLorean. It’s your kids, Marty, your kids!
February 12th, 2007 at 3:41 pm
Poop Socking is being considered for the next X-Games. Though they have to accomplish it while LARPing. That should really make it interesting! Imagine a guy Poop Socking while wearing full plate mail and trying to swing a replica +10 sword of demonic destruction!
February 12th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
I believe Jeremy either this week or last gave birth a daughter. Err..I mean his wife anyway. So yeah, congratz either way Jeremy!
February 12th, 2007 at 9:24 pm
I will not accept this baby outrage, that is unless Jeremys kid appears on a podcast as soon as she can speak. Then all is forgiven.
Also, just to get a rise out of Dan, SupCom sucks, there I said it.

February 13th, 2007 at 5:23 am
Pleeeze post show at 64kbps.
I love to listen in each week but 32kbps is too low, for an otherwise excellent podcast.
February 13th, 2007 at 10:55 am
SupCom will rock in about a year when I have a PC that will run it… Until then I’m with bwelkk… lol
February 13th, 2007 at 11:17 am
Dek, Jeremy has talked about the bitrate before and if we want it at 64kbps then we end up with a shorter show length…
we all voted in the past for longer episodes over higher bitrate…
32 isn’t great, but they are just talking… its not like a musical experience that demands the best quality possible…
And congrads to Jeremy. A baby is always fun. Until it starts crying.
Strength Jeremy, Strength.
February 13th, 2007 at 11:46 am
Jeremy was blessed with a baby boy, not a baby girl as mentioned above. Also, it was stated on next gen that he will be on leave for couple of weeks and no podcasts for now. I am guessing same for PCGP :_(
February 13th, 2007 at 1:45 pm
We’re gonna try to go it alone this week… bear with us
February 13th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
Oh god, that can’t end well.
Congratulations on the child, Jeremy.
February 13th, 2007 at 5:51 pm
good article on sup com this issue Dan
February 13th, 2007 at 9:08 pm
good luck pcgamer crew!!
February 13th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Oh, MaxPC said it was a baby girl!
Ah well, Boys are better anyway (jk) and Good luck and all that to Jeremy. Is this his first?
February 14th, 2007 at 3:46 am
so, are we getting two this week?
February 14th, 2007 at 10:50 am
Norm if you play Medieval II Total War I think you might want to take a look to my blog about this game, http://total-war-campaign-chronicles.blogspot.com/
I basically show a full campaign in video and give tons of information. =)
February 14th, 2007 at 12:22 pm
Just wanted to say Congrats to Jeremy and his wife on their new baby! BTW get used to no sleep for around 2 years….trust me
Good luck on the DIY podcast this week PCG crew!
February 14th, 2007 at 10:08 pm
Thanks for the congratulations, gang. That’s about as heart warming as a podcast forum is capable of being. Cigars all around. What a week… first a son and now we see what the PCG podcast does when you nudge it out of the nest. If you love something, let it go, right? If it returns to you, you still have a job. If it doesn’t, it was never yours to begin with.
February 14th, 2007 at 10:28 pm
Congratulations, Jeremy!
I feel obligated to send in a congratulatory .mp3 for you!
February 15th, 2007 at 12:44 am
Gratz Jeremy Williams. I hope my MP3s get played, except the one I requested not to be.
And Norm, don’t forget to patch M2TW. A new patch should come by the end of Feb, but be sure to check out the patch they have for the time being. Its a must if you want sieges to go alright.
I reccommend playing as the Holy Roman Empire, they’re quite fun.
And on that note, I’d like everyone who has BF2, and wants to try something cooler and less nooby, the Project Reality, its going v0.5, with A-10s, AV-8Bs, and more.
Its basically a free addon with 100 times as much content as any EA expack would have. New classes, factions, vehicles, and even new kits.
It certainly ain’t streamlined, but a lot of effort went into it, and it clearly shows.
Heres the official website: realitymod.com (copy paste into url box)
And heres their Wiki User guide: guide.realitymod.com/index.php?title=User_Guide
Really good mod folks, check it out if you want something above and beyond the vanilla Bf2 experience.
Teaser: a certain map also has destructible environments…including buildings!!
More info can also be found on: pc.ign.com/articles/763/763618p2.html
Norm, might want to check that out too!
February 15th, 2007 at 9:36 am
Gratz Jeremy! I don’t think the PCG Crew will stray too far from the nest. They just have too much crap going on to want to be doing what you do all the time.
My rule of thumb is, why do something yourself crappily, when you can pay someone to do it properly. (Not saying you guys couldn’t do it if you had the time… PROVE ME WRONG!)
On the other side, anyone see the “sex game” That is in God of War 2? Is this okay because it carries a M rating already?
February 15th, 2007 at 12:15 pm
See this is why I hate kids. They get in the way of everything! I’m having my f***ing tubes tied!
February 15th, 2007 at 12:45 pm
Beepee, look at it from Jeremy’s view. No work for 2 weeks!
Then again, look at it from Jeremy’s view again, Harder work for 2 weeks!
Getting tubes tied is an option i suppose, but… eww, that’d hurt.
February 15th, 2007 at 2:11 pm
Thank you for clearing that up Dan S, that was confusing as hell.
February 15th, 2007 at 2:15 pm
Looking at it from Jeremy’s point of view, I’d say he’s in for about 18 years minimum hard work!
February 15th, 2007 at 6:51 pm
beepee, I can kind of understand your point of view (though I don’t hate other people’s kids), and don’t want any children of my own either, but please don’t piss on Jeremy’s parade by being a tool! A simple congratulations would be kind of you, what you’ve said just makes you look like an ass.
February 16th, 2007 at 4:36 pm
congrats Jeremy!!
