May 17th, 2007 at 6:19 pm
I’m hoping for Tabula Rassa info.
May 17th, 2007 at 6:19 pm
I’m guessing it’s the new StarCraft 2 game we were all expecting……Although I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Duke
May 17th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
BTW, I’m holding Mr. Vederman personally responsible for delaying the Podcast..Who do these EIC’s think they are ?????
May 17th, 2007 at 6:50 pm
i hope its starcraft 2, i mean like… it would be an important game right?
May 17th, 2007 at 6:55 pm
Hoping its StarCraft 2 also. Even though with Supreme Commander I can wait for a good while.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:13 pm
I bet its DNFRVR!!!1
May 17th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
48 hours, and Blizzard is announcing their next game on Saturday… hmmmmmmmm.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
It has to be the new Starcraft game—can’t wait!!!
May 17th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
I change my vote to what pheriannath said, it’s too convenient. Better be good, Blizzard, without my new Podcast I withdraw like a heroin addict.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
I want teh AoE4. But it won’t be.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
Diablo 3!
I called it… The koreans will erupt in a rage when they hear this too.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
Rye, because it won’t be a new Starcraft? I bet you’re right. They’ve waited so long…
May 17th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
It would be funny if they announced Diablo III in Korea (and I might actually prefer that game), but it has to be Starcraft-related.
Anyone know what time (in EST) they’ll be announcing it on Saturday? EDIT: Never mind, found it here. Supposedly it’ll probably be sometime between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. EST on Saturday.
May 17th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
I bet it’s C&C 4
But seriously probably StarCraft 2 or Duke Nukem Forever. I’m betting on Duke (see next month box of June issue)
May 17th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
Blizzard wouldn’t dare to announce anything BUT SC2 in Korea. Although, I do want DNF.
May 17th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
You’re all stupid, its My Little Pony: An adventure into beastiality
May 17th, 2007 at 9:16 pm
Lost Vikings 3!
May 17th, 2007 at 9:37 pm
StarCraft 2 for sure but I wish it was Duke Nukem Forever. ^_^
May 17th, 2007 at 9:47 pm
maybe spore news?
May 17th, 2007 at 9:57 pm
Spore’s delayed until 08. There’s the spore news.
It so has to be Starcraft 2. Checkout Blizzard.com
What’s next in the timeline?!?
May 17th, 2007 at 10:20 pm
blizzard is busy expanding their gold vault
May 17th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
World of Rock n’ Roll Racing!
A Blackthorne Sequel - Starring Bruce Campbell!
World of Warcraft: Starcraft: Broodwar!
Those #$(*& Vikings are Lost Again!
It’s being announced in Korea, if it’s not Starcraft-related… Let’s just say I hope they don’t send anyone important over there to announce it.
May 17th, 2007 at 10:43 pm
Catfantastic 3d!
May 17th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
In light of both SupCom and Company of Heroes (particularly the latter) I really don’t see news concerning a new StarCraft RTS too terribly exciting. Blizzard has been passed by and passed by with style by both Relic and GPG. Even if they were to actually make a game that taps into the modern power of PCs (which they won’t, they’ll cater to the worst kind of PCs, the absolute clunker e-Machines that everyone in the backwater burgs of Kentucky have) they’d still have to come up with a hell of a lot of innovation and creativity to bypass these two superb, already existing RTS titles. I just don’t see that happening. Even when it was brand new, StarCraft was hardly the best RTS - Dark Reign and TA offered plenty of features that SC couldn’t even come close to touching. The only solid things about StarCraft were the well-balanced trio of opponents and the somewhat cool story (and even that itself is debatable).
Personally, I think the faceless masses, the ones who gobble up every Madden, GTA, and HALO iteration will drool all over themselves for this sure-to-be-announced game. For those of us who are a bit more discerning, well we’re more than happy with the superb selection of high-quality RTS games we have right now. That’s not to say that new games aren’t welcome, it’s to say that there are plenty of us out here who are asking ourselves, “Do we really need or even want StarCraft 2 at this point?” With a little introspection and honesty, you may find youselves saying, “Nah, not really desperate for it.”

May 17th, 2007 at 11:03 pm
Wait a second, we all know that Blizzard is making an announcement, and if you ask me, the PC Gamer staff shouldn’t be claiming an exclusive announcement since were all going to know at about 3 am Saturday morning anyway. Here’s to hoping it’s something completely by surprise, otherwise were all going to realize that PCG is trying to pull a fast one on us this week, trying to get out of a podcast…oh no you don’t….
May 18th, 2007 at 12:02 am
Wytefang: Dude we’re speculating about the announcement not the game play… they haven’t even announced it. I highly doubt they are just going to do better looking SC. one thing Blizzard is really good at is taking pointers from other game developers and they probably analyzed both COH and supcom to take best of both to incorporate it into their new game
May 18th, 2007 at 12:11 am
Wytefang,
all respect to your opinions concerning Starcraft but i must disagree.
Blizzard may not innovate, but they do ensure that what you get is a top notch game.
Starcraft was THE game that brought me into PC gaming, so i’m going to biased about it.
It was the game that truly pulled rts’s away from chess battles and into unique dynamic battles.
Bashing a game for not pushing graphics is lame. Look at Blizzard’s games and none is ever top-notch. They all look good though, and they actually put time and effort into the style of the game.
Thats one thing that Blizzard holds above most developers, the level of polish that they put into their products.
Further more, Some might be saying that “do we need a Starcraft 2 at this point?”
THis is jsut an announcement that the game is coming. Knowing Blizzard that means the game is still two years off. Who knows where we will be in two years?
Finally, pushing Starcraft’s Story is singlehandedly reason enough for me to pick up the game. All Blizzard games get me interested in the Characters. TA never did that, i have never felt any fondness for any unit in Chris Taylor’s game’s (still love his games).
The stories are not brilliant, but they do suffice to make we want to understand the story.
They throw Starcraft 2 out, i’ll be one of the first to snatch it up. Am i desperate for it? No, but I’d like to see it much more than Crysis. Starcraft means something to me already.
May 18th, 2007 at 12:13 am
New Tomb Raider game.
May 18th, 2007 at 1:12 am
Its actually quite interesting how blizzard are building it up by posting images of thier previous major titles front covers on the entrance page to the website.Right now its on warcraft 3:Reign of Chaos, Yesterday it was Diablo 2.Interesting to note that starcraft2.com is woned by blizzard and links back to the same entrance page.
May 18th, 2007 at 1:39 am
TBH i dont care much for the RTS genre. But if they announced Diablo 3 i would be all over it.
May 18th, 2007 at 4:13 am
Blackthorne 2, the sequel, set in the world of warcraft 4 where you fight back diablo’s burning crusade of star crafts, featuring duke nukem. That’s the word on the street.
May 18th, 2007 at 5:02 am
The suspense is killing me. If this turns out to be something like “Peggle 2: Bjorn’s Revenge” I’ll be upset.
May 18th, 2007 at 6:06 am
Peggle 2 would be good, but Peggle MMO would be better! Although I’d still be satisfied with CatFantastic 3D. But seriously, as someone who has never played Starcraft (or much RTS at all for that matter), I can’t see me getting all that excited about the next podcast.
May 18th, 2007 at 7:00 am
Blizzard patched Starcraft just a while ago. Kind of obvious what it’s going to be Blizzard.
Its that Warcraft cartoon looking game! ABOUT TIME!
May 18th, 2007 at 7:09 am
Warcraft Adventures! lol

May 18th, 2007 at 7:19 am
I’ve never been all that big on playing RTSs competitively (except against friends), so I’ll admit that I would be mainly interested in StarCraft 2 for the story, and also to see what shiny new toys the Terrans, Protoss and Zerg have now. It’s not just about having the most innovative features (though these would be nice) and top-of-the-line graphics; like RyePunk, I have an affinity for the StarCraft universe (story-wise, my favorite of the 3 Blizzard franchises), and I’m excited to see where it’s going next.
May 18th, 2007 at 8:16 am
My vote is for the starcraft mmo
May 18th, 2007 at 8:59 am
It’s not going to be an MMO. Blizzard have said they have no (current) plans to make another MMO.
May 18th, 2007 at 9:31 am
Its gotta be Starcraft but no matter what it is deep down inside it is truly a license to print money. Blizzard keeps putting out amazing titles that make millions or in the case of WOW..10’s of millions a month….no matter what it is it will be amazing…
May 18th, 2007 at 9:57 am
Hopefully the announcement from Blizzard will also bring a lot of media about said game (Videos, pictures etc.)
Would be really sweet if the game is not far off from release as well.
May 18th, 2007 at 10:03 am
This looks fake, but interesting nonetheless.

the Blizzard boss is gonna announce that he just bought a planet with the money he’s made on WoW.
May 18th, 2007 at 12:18 pm

May 18th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Come on guys (girls too)…
PCG says its going to be HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. Maybe it won’t be the game that everyone seems to think its going to be, but something that’s going to completely blind-side us with a happy result. It may not even be a game, but something like WOW dropping subscription fees or the like. That would really blow peoples minds.
Maybe it’s an easy to use program that allows you to create your own game of whatever genre you want from your own knock-off version of StarCraft2 and Duke Nukem Forever to Grim Fandango: Enchiladas Ahoy!.
Whatever. Its just cool that everyone’s excited.
May 18th, 2007 at 12:41 pm
You people are crazy… It’s obviously NetHack 2.
May 18th, 2007 at 1:00 pm
This is the problem though, whatever huge announcement there is, it’s only going to get dwarfed by Blizzard’s huge announcement. I’m hoping it’s something completely unrelated, as we’ve already know about Blizzard and it’s really not “huge” for PC Gamer to tell us.
May 18th, 2007 at 1:44 pm
Since we have waiting so long for the much ballyhooed Gravy Trader, anyone want to take a side bet that Gravy Trader will be out before Duke Nukem forever? I think I have waiting longingly for both since the days when the PCGamer Cd-rom had a little elevator ride to the cave of goodies known as demo’s with a little brown tour guide who proudly exclaimed that “he had no hands”..
May 18th, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Gravy Trader would be the announcement of the century…
In other news, apparently Eidos wasnt happy with their butchering of Deus Ex, so they are making another one to further taint the greatness of the first…
May 18th, 2007 at 3:13 pm
Blizzard said they don’t plan on making another MMO? Then why do they have job offers with “working on Next-Gen MMO” in the description?
May 18th, 2007 at 4:58 pm
Lucas Arts is going to work on another proper Space Sim and bring Tie Fighter into the here and now?!?!
wishful thinking. I think it would be huge…
May 18th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
You’re all wrong, the new is gonna be that all developers that currently develop for the PC are going to stop doing so and exclusively work on console titles to a) make more money b) avoid the huge losses they suffer due to piracy, no DNF, StarCraft 2, or anything else, unless you buy a console.
May 18th, 2007 at 6:58 pm
Ahhh man…..my balls……there so…….blue
May 18th, 2007 at 7:28 pm
“Gravy Trader would be the announcement of the century…

the third one is being made here in Montreal, and everything that gets made in montreal is good. they just set up studio and are recruiting animators, modelers, and level designers in september.
thats too far off for me and i opted for Ubisoft Montreal where ill be starting June 4th
