PCGP Episode 8
We’re joined by K.C. Coleman, lead tester at LucasArts for Star Wars: Battlefront II. Now that the game is in the late stages of play-testing, K.C. talks to us about what goes into testing — and breaking, and fixing — a big game at the end of its development cycle. Also: What does D.J. *really* think about the Doom movie? Plus, we answer a whole bunch of listener-submitted MP3 questions.

I think this is the best one so far.
The Vede’s dream thing was hilarious.
Oh, by the way, I’m friends with Wayne Brady online, and he’s a huge PC Gamer, actually.

The RSS feed seems to be broken. iTunes and iPodder were unable to snag this episode.

ZuljinRaynor: thanks for pointing that out. Problem solved, and the aggregators should pick up the revised feed soon.

Keep churning them out. I’ve read about the whole playtesting-getting-into-the-gaming-industry and understand more about it.
Thanks again for a great show!
Also, why was the Vede beeped out when he said “bullsh*t”? Is there a limit of cuss words that can be said? Or is the podcast being censored by Coconut Monkey?

Hey Jeremy. Dj tells me that you are the man behind the podcast music. He guesses that you do it all on your computer, but isn’t sure which program you use. You’re doing an awesome job man keep it up, but just for me (and others interested) could you please tell us what program you’re using to compose that music. Thanks. Oh, and BTW, another awesome podcast. The Vedes dream was hilarious

Thanks for the kind words. To compose the music I use Acid and about 40 loop libraries. The libraries are a little expensive, but there’s a free (limited) version of the software if you want to experiment, and you can find free loop samples on the site too. They call them 8 packs.
To edit the show, I use Vegas, by the same company (Sony, formerly Sonic Foundry).

Was a bit behind the times up until this episode (moving, no access to a computer/no decent connections, you understand), but I’ve caught up and I have got to say that I am thoroughly impressed.
Great show, looking forward to the next one.

OK, thanks Jeremy. I have downloaded Acid and the “8 pack”. Pretty cool stuff. Just, like you said, doing a little experimenting. Thanks again.

Using Skype? Here’s how to fix your audio problems:
- close skype
- open windows file explorer and head over to….
C:\Documents and Settings\[WinUsername]\Application Data\Skype\[SkypeUsername]
- edit config.xml
- look for the opening tag
- add a line after it
0
- look half way down for
edit 2 lines to look like this
0
0
- save and open skype
This will turn off AutomaticGainControl and other automatic contols. You will then be in charge. lol.

if this doesn’t work, then there should be enough information here for you to figure out on your own.
